Bank of America Stadium, home to the NFL's Carolina Panthers, anchors Uptown on the southwest end. At the other end of Uptown is the McColl Center for Visual Art. The city’s cultural district, dubbed North End, extends from the Center southward to the center of town, Independence Square, at Tryon and Trade streets.
A few restaurants and bars within walking distance to Bank of America Stadium or Bobcats Arena: RiRa Irish Pub, Capital Grill, Morton's Steakhouse and McCormick & Schmicks for dinner, appetizers or cocktails. Buckhead Saloon on E 5th Street is a popular stop before and after Bobcats games. BlackFinn American Saloon located at 210 E. Trade in the EpiCenter, City Tavern 214 N. Tryon and Fox & Hound in the Fourth Ward at 330 N. Tryon (corner of 7th & Tryon) are just a sample of uptown gathering places.
Residence Inn by Marriott is located next to Bank of America Stadium. Westin Charlotte Hotel on S College Street is also very close. Both hotels serve food and cocktails pre and post games however are usually very crowded.
